Hi All,

I have to calculate cooling load for a computer lab which contains 1 UPS of 15 KVA and 30 numbers of SMF Battery (100 AH). (They are keeping the UPS and Batteries inside the lab for security reasons)
How to calculate load for these?
Please help

Regards

Jacob

Provide some details
· Lab length, width, height.
· Ups electrical wattage
· Number of people
· Electrical lighting wattage
· Peak load Ambient temperature
· Whether lab conditioned space or unconditioned space.

Making the assumption that the 15 kVA UPS is actually powering the computer equipment in the lab you are looking at 15 kW of heat gain (in round numbers) from the computer hardware.
The UPS itself will chuck out around 10% of its rated load as heat so that's another 1.5 kW.
Assuming again that the lab is not more than 50 sq.m, I would suggest 20 kW sensible cooling required.
