Hi All

Just need a quick question clearing up & this seems the place to get an answer..

Am i right in thinking that after 1st Jan 2015 R22 will still be ok left in operational plant, just that no R22 should be charged to the plant due to breakdown(leaks), service/maintenance work ???

Does anyone know if there'll still be a market for recovered R22 or will there be a charge for disposing of any recovered gas after the 'deadline' ???

There seems a difference to this 'phase out' & when R12 & 502 was assigned to history..

Any answers & opinions would be appreciated..

P.S. Great Forum !! :)

Hi Nike123

Thanks for the reply, but this is exactly the sort of information that's confusing me !!
Not sure how old your doc is & being a supplier, think they may have a vested interest in recommending new replacement equiment..

If you get chance have a read through this, especially pages 5&6-.defra.gov.uk/environment/quality/air/fgas/documents/fgassupport-rac3.pdf

This is a doc from Jan 2010 so i'm presuming is current..

Having read those two documents I don't see your problem, I'm sorry.

Both state the same information regarding usages and dates.

What is it exactly that is confusing you?

Thanks for your reply Brian, the part that i found confusing is the ' illegal use' of R22 after 31st Dec 14..

Documents like the cfes one just seem a bit vauge as what they regards as 'use', after looking into things today it's now clear to me that the term 'use' relates to service & maintenancework......i think

R22 can't be bought or sold after 31/12/2014. Does it sound better?
