it needs replacing, its behind the cover in rear of fridge. Yellow lead, with end clipped to evap tube (top left). Also check continuity of thermal fuse and defrost heater while you're in there

:o I am in the middle of a recall for these RS21s as they have being catching fire, so contact your nearest service centre they will do the mod and replace the evap sensor free of charge. As they are quite embaressed about there continuous faults and crap build quality. Tell the Engineer coming you need the evap sensor replacing he will be grateful to know.

There is an ongoing retro-fit of additional fuses to the defrost circuit in the main pcb. They are NOT catching fire, there was an issue with ONE appliance only and that was only due to an unusual set of circumstances. Being the responsible company, Samsung have initiated the mod kit programme on 6 models using the similar defrost system.
As for crap quality, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but consider the millions produced worldwide and their continued popularity. I consider them to be very well made and fit for purpose generally. I would be more than happy to have one in my housew even without mod. - My opinion only!

I agree with Martin I also specialise in the samsung product and I have an rs21 in my kitchen. Yes they do have their problems but they are not half as bad as some of the other products on the market which cost a lot more to buy and a lot more to repair.

Hello people,

I am a refrigeration tech myself in the philippines and I do encounter a problem with an RS21 where in the unit would run until it reaches its set temperature and then of course cuts off the compressor, then the temperature displayed would slowly rise and the unit would no longer start the compressor until you un plug the unit from the wall. As you plug it back, the unit would just start normally as if nothing happens. Then it repeats the problem of after cutting off, would not start the compressor again even though the display is already above the set temperatures. Can you help please?

Check if the defrost heater in the refrigerator is open circuit
