Been to strip down a Daikin FFQ25B8V1B cassette today to clean out the smelling drain pan, simple enough job in it's self.
However on removing the pan the drain pump dropped down as it had broken away from it's mountings.
The metal mountings are actually buried with in polystyrene of the top base which the coil and fan and screwed to/through. (stupid design in my view! :()
Question is has anyone managed to remove the top poly casing and outer metal casing upwards (there's stax of room above the grid to lift off the outer casing) and support the coil with two lengths of wood across the ceiling grid which is only a inch or so above it anyway so will not stress the Fridge connections?
Sounds a faff but looks quite possible and easy to do when compared to pumping down the high level condensing unit which also feeds two other cassettes.
