Do you guys in Britain get paid if the weather sends you home or stops you going out?

It depends how strong your union is. :D

Our firm tried to stop paying if we couldn't get to work because of the snow.

We told them their instructions went against the company health and safety policy about safe driving.

They gave in.

If you are at work, but can't work for any reason you get paid.

If you can't get into work because of the weather, we still get paid if we are service engineers and we need to be in differant site.

If we work in one place or a factory and don't turn up for work, that then is down to individual companies. Some pay some don't.

needless to say they don't pay you here-no work, no pay.
I could always use one of my 5 days vacation that I get after one year with the company.
