We had installed a VRV System for a building. Every thing is working fine.

We had used an 8 Core wire of 0.24mm for the control wiring. We used 4 cores together which makes the thickness 0.24 x 4= 0.96mm which is above the prescribed Daikin thickness.

Now the agent of Daikin is asking us to change the wiring to 2 cores with 0.7mm thick. They say our 8 core wiring will create problem in the future.

As far as my understanding goes there will not be any problem as this is transmitting low voltage signal. We tried with even single core wire of 0.24 thicknesses & the unit still functions fine. Kindly advise if there is any problem if we use o.24mm thick wire.

Transmission wiring carries more than just voltage, it carries data too!:)

If a 0.2mm telephone cable can carry the internet thousands of miles then I can't see why you need 0.75 for the control to a VRV. It's my hunch but I suggest it's just the manufacturers over spec'ing as usual.

However warranty may be an issue as they might use it against you if you ever have a claim..
