I'm looking for a service manual for the above.

I've been onto extranet but it isn't there.

Has anyone got a manual for this? Its pretty new packaged unit and its on R410a.

Thanks

Hi Marc,

I don't think there is a service manual available for these units. However you can download tech data/application manuals which include fault codes and some useful info.

The UATYP model number that you quoted is a 407c unit.

Hi VRVIII,

I was sure it was R410a..... i must be wrong.

I have the data manual but it isn't the best, thats why i wanted the service manual.
I wonder why they haven't released a service manual for it.

I was having problems with the unit not going on defrost so wanted to see what controls it.

I know usually its the ambient air and the coil sensor along with compressor run time but these checked out ok.
I'm back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks so i'm expecting to get called back to it.

I spoke to Daikin Tech before christmas about it and he wasn't sure about what sensors controlled it or
1) how to put on manual defrost
2)how to reduce the time so the defrost starts sooner.

Hi,

A 410a unit model number would be UATYQ…

The defrost start condition is calculated by the coil sensor and different timers depending on coil temp.
IE.

Coil temp <3 timer starts counting

After 120min & coil temp <-2 for 3 min=enable defrost
OR

After 60min & coil temp <-4 for 3 min=enable defrost
OR

After 30min & coil temp <-8 for 3 min=enable defrost
The defrost contol can not be adjustable or enabled manually.

I would suggest you check,
Coil sensor calibration & it is secure in the sensor pocket
Refrigerant charge is correct.
Correct air flow across evaporator, this should be checked and set up during commissioning (adjusted by fan belt pulleys).

Hi Marc,

If you require a thermistor temp / resistance table for the unit PM me your email. The sensor characteristics are completely different to those used in daikin splits etc.
