Dear Engineers/Technicians,

I have work on many big freezers, chillers, A C units etc.
but my LG domestic refrigerator using 134A compressor was change to the exact same size but different brand name (now Danfoss). The compressor ambient temp. is too hot. Can you tell me the possible reason why this might be so ? A friend suggested that the original compressor might be low pressure & the new high is this a solid arguemant ? Please give your suggestions ?

Any chance you left some non condensables in the system after your repair?

I'm betting its a rotary compressor and the temperature is normal.

Please give details of the two compressors; saying 'same size' covers a multiple of sins.

Many thanks for the response & best wishes for the season,
:-) well first of all there's always a chance you left non-condensables in the system but I'm hoping that's not the case & Gary it's a recip. comp. 'multitude of sins' I like that phrase...but I meant, same hp, refrigerant, volts, etc. but what I was really trying to find out is whether some of the compressors coming from Korea was/is a low pressure & how to rectify or deal with the problem,
if that is the case?

Tell us what the compressors are and we might be able to form an answer.

The compressor ambient temp. is too hot.I hear first time for this term! What does this mean?

all the above.
you can have two compressors rated at the same hp.but one may have more displacement than the other

Hi Lowcool,

I appreciate your comment, when you say "displacement", what exactly you referring to, I just want to be clear as to what you are saying.

thanks Wallerboy76

gday wallerboy
cylinder capacity in cubic centimetres.
say danfoss sc12 and sc15 are both 3/8 hp,sc12 has 12.87 cc,sc15 has 15.28 cc. thus more capacity and are both rated to low and medium temperature applications
