Can anyone help?

I have been given an assignment, not sure where to start.

I have to plot a performance map for a R22 refrigerant, and have been given three sets of data for three condensing temperatures, 30,35 and 40 degrees, including P's and T's for inlet and outlet of each component.

The plot has to be functions of condensing and evaporating temp.

I have to discuss the performance charectaristcs of commercial reciprocating chillers.

Can anyone recommend a good book or site that describes any of the features above?

I am aware of component functions just not sure how to start.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

By 'plotting' do you mean that you need to complete and analyse a PH, Mollier, diagram?

If so, try downloading CoolPack, it is free, and plot you information on the charts there.

Thank you, I have to plot the compressor performance curve.

I have to include the COP, cooling capacity and power consumption curves for a constant condensing temp. My evapurating temp is between 5 and 10 degrees.

I have been given the table for R22.

Use the above link to access a pdf course. If you download from around 2016 to 2040, you should end up with a very useful set of documents. These will help you in your study.

My suggestion is to open each pdf file by progressively altering the number 2020, from 2016 onwards, display each pdf, then save them.

Just some info on the problem, I have to calculate the cooling capacity for the system along the total heat absorption axis, of the performance graph. How are these values usually calculated?
