Will someone try to explain this note:

THE HEAT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES OF CABINET IS NORMAL AND SAFE.
CAUSED BY EVAPORATION OF THE CONDNSER INSIDE.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

Hi Chemi,

Is this a note from the manufacturer of the unit? This sounds like the anti-sweat function of the waste heat when it is directed to the exterior panels in new fridges.

Happy Holidays

Oh, I know what they mean all right, its just the way they wrote it.

I'm sure it makes a lot of sense to the housewife :D

I always think that we english speaking/reading people suffer the most ingenious translations of the original manufacturers instructions.

When you consider that the fridge/ac/tv etc was designed by the Japanese, then they build it, write a manual and sell it. The manual is translated by the Japanese into say six other languages and away we go.

Some years later the technology is sold on to the Taiwanese who then rewrite the manual.. somewhere along the line the Germans will also do a translation which will eventually get changed back into english.

What hope do we have ??

Yes, "evaporation in the condenser" is quite an abomination. :o
