How do I calculate the rate of evaporation of a steam humidifier?

My first answer would be to read the instruction manual and the second would be to contact the manufacturer.

Or, you could monitor the water usage and go from there...or measure the up and down stream air conditions...

Good idea, but this for a college assignment. I waswodering if there was a formula?

Coolie, have a look at this, it may be of use to you or you may wish you hadn't started !

What data were you given? Heat or power input?

Will reply when I get home, where the info is.
Thanks for the interest.

The amount of steam depends solely on the heat you add to the water. This is a pure simple thermodynamical question.
Adding heat to let it boil and then adding further heat to vaporise the water.
