I am interested in getting myself the latest Daikin single split high wall system such as the FTXS-F, does anyone have the knowledge as to what are the control parameters when using Auto mode, ie what is it's +/- temps based on setpoint. It does not appear to be detailed in any of the sales catalogues. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Mitsi seem to advertise +/- 2 degrees but only after 15 minutes so it seems it is very poor, as my understanding is if setpoint achieved in 5 mins unit will continue to operate for a futher 10 mins.

Many thanks,
Dave

it is common with VRF or VRV / inverter type units to have a minimum runtime.. actually any unit for that matter... but typically these units will start slow and then ramp up as needed so that it will take that amount of time to reach setpoint... this is by design.. starting and stopping an inverter results in lower efficiency.. but running it longer in lower power results in ultra high efficiency...

if a unit is reaching setpoint so quickly as 5 minutes it is likely oversized very much so...

For Mitsubishi Mr Slim split systems Auto mode operation.

To prevent possibility of system constantly changing modes heat to cool & back to heat when used in auto mode the system has a 15min delay.

So when 1st turn indoor unit on in auto the indoor unit will select the mode as follows.
heat mode if room temp below set temp
cool mode if room temp above set temp

Then for example
The system is running in heating mode when approaching set temp the system ramps down compressor & when at set temp stops heating. After that say the room continues to get warmer due to somthing else like solar gain. The system will not change over to cool mode until the room temp remains more than 2 deg C above set temp for 15 mins.At this condition the indoor unit operates fan only.
But if room temp falls back to 1 deg C lower than set point the system will heat again at low compressor speed to acheive set temp.

Same in cooling, the system will not change over to heat untill room temp has been more than 2 deg C lower than set temp for 15 mins.

So all the time the room temp is in the comfort zone of 2 deg C from set temp the unit will not change mode.

If this type of control stratagy is not deployed in some applications the system can heat for 5 mins change over to cool for 5 mins then change back to heat for 5 mins & end user complains.

This has always been standard auto mode control stratagy on Mr Slim split systems for more than last 20 years.
