Question for Appliance Techs

I know this is a AC web site, but many of us have also been trained in appliances. So I have a washing machine Question for you appliance techs.
Friend of mine has a 2 to 3 year old Kenmore, and when it comes out of the spin cycle it makes a sound his wife described as:
Whoooosh
Whoooosh
Whoooosh
Says it just started and happens every time the unit quits spinning. Any idea what the cause is?

Water pump making noises because there is very little water for pumping at the end of spin cycle.
Does that stops after some time or machine is stuck in that program?

Ya want to try turning the stereo on and opening the back bedroom window that should sort it out:D

Was she sat on it at the time it made the noise? Just wondering if the extra weight comprimised its performance!
