Hi Guys
New to the site, just wondering as I was at a new site today where mech.oil cooling is present ,but is cut out during hotgas defrost,to me it does not make sense as your suc temp goes up and compr. is loaded more it is an easy fix just wondering if anybody have had any problems regarding this, these systems are recip systems and low temp applications.

thanks guys.

Its colled by txv fed from main liquid line which is in a pump down pressure due to L.L.solenoid closes at time of hg defrost.

gday rodgrod
can honestly say i have never seen this set up before and cannot think of any reason to apart from excess oil temperature of course or why it is cycled off at defrost.

what sort of oil temperature is achieved and at a wild guess is it on 22 by any chance.

cheers

It has got be one of stupid professional design engineers that has mis-interpruted some aspect of oil temperature during HG defrost.
