I had what I thought was and interesting case,
Client did not notice but I did when working in the compressor room. Voltage to compressor OK, common open in compressor,on high temp overload. when running all parameters look good except super heat. Too low, some flood back, even with suction accumulator. I fixed the SH and all things worked well. Question??
Why was it overheating? Lost oil?

hi sounds like your comp needs replacment it must of worked in the past at extreme conditiones which affected both the bearings and the motor causing it to open the klixon protection in the motor due to over heating ,when u have liquid floodback ,in scroll comps u get liquid pumped to the bearings instead of oil ,which causes what u discribe.
u could run the comp to the " ground " or replace now with no " clean up " involved, allthough i would check the txv !!
