Can someone please let me know how to work out the capacity of a Trane chiller from the model number?
The one I have got is a CGAH0407NMRNA-00.
Thanks. BM

You can't always do it from the model no. with Trane.
Your best bet if no-one here can help is to ring Trane and ask. American and European CGAH's are not neccesarily the same thing so Googling might not be the way this time.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I got onto someone from Trane in Asia who sent me a brochure on the unit.
The 040 could possibly be related to 40 tons @ 60hz running at 25 degree C ambient, thats about as close as it gets.
Thanks again.

That being the case, it'll be 33.333 Tons at 25 ambient. Assuming you're on 50hz of course. (A mate at Aggreko informs me that there's a lot of 60hz generators out there).

A chilled-water applied system uses chilled water to transport heat energy between the airside, chillers and the outdoors. These systems are more commonly found in large HVAC installations, given their efficiency advantages.
The components of the chiller (evaporator, compressor, an air- or water-cooled condenser, and expansion device) are often manufactured, assembled, and tested as a complete package within the factory. These packaged systems can reduce field labor, speed installation and improve reliability.
