Hi
We need help with the max ppm water and max/change in TAN for stability in a set of turbine compressors on a reactor cooling system.
The units are Carrier chillers and operate on Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) R 134a
Each chiller has a nominal charge of approximately 748 Kg per chiller.

OIL MANUFACTURER: CASTROL
OIL TYPE: ICEMATIC SW

PPM water is @ 69 ppm on one unit and although this level appears OK should this be lower?
TAN at present is 0.1 but we have no trends and again this seems reasonble but we have not checked new oil for a base line.

Any assistance or info we can get will be appreciated.

This is a continuation of our previous post on this subject

Thanks for the info

regards

why not mail Carrier and ask them for exact data ?from my knowledge your TAN is ok as for the water we use % not ppm so i cant say!
are these units screw ?or centrifugal?

Which model chillers are they, perhaps we can find the data also.
