The title, is the lesson i have learned (again) today.
5 months ago on a new install, my labourer broke a small plastic clip on an under-slung unit. You know the ones, that stop the filter housing coming down altogether ?
Well i thought i will get another and then fit it at the first service.Job done "KERCHINGG", cheque in the bank off i went.
Today, telephone rings "My air conditionings broke"
Off i go to have a look.
Now that little broken clip (that didn't matter) is a very important little clip, that holds not only the filter housing in place, but also keeps the safety cut out switches depressed.
Over time the cover has worked loose and out pop the safty switches.
Result "My air conditioning is broken"
Now if i had ordered a new one straight away, i would have got it the following day, fitted it while i was still on site.
End of problem.
But oh no, off i rushed to the next install.
That little phone call, i should have made, has cost me one day today and one more day when i get the new clip.
This is about equal to the profit on the second job i rushed off to.
I suppose these are the little details, you do not understand as an employee, until you try to run a business yourself and it hurts you own pocket.
Anyway, i'm going standing in the naughty boys corner, to give myself a good talking to.
cheers
