Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I recently purchased a used Manitowoc gd08004a ice maker. When I power the unit on, It does the normal draining. Fan will not come on and the machine doesn't cool at all. Today I went to try again and the fan actually turned on for about 30 seconds then off and the machine started to cool. After that I'm back to the machine starting but no cooling. I forced the machine into harvest but placing the ice thickness probes in water and it cycled into harvest ok. Got hot, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

A lot of icemakers have a pressure sustaining valve between the discharge and the liquid line out of condenser, to maintain liquid feed to expansion device at ice making plates. They have a tendancy to screw up and pass continuously, so condenser fan doesn't run and you donnot make ice. You need a trained tech to sort it out. It could also be short of
refrigerant.

When moving the machine home, I had it upside-down in the truck.. could that have caused issues?
