Anyone know of a manufacturer who makes small 3-5kw splits?

I've never heard of mainstream split makers offering this standard of gear. Small splits are unlikely to be to ATEX standards.

Most of this stuff is custom-made from ATEX components.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is ATEX?

In European Law, it's an acronym taken from the French title of a European Directive on the testing and specification of equipment used in hazardous or explosive areas - oil fields, petro-chemical plant and the like.

Appareils destinés à être utilisés en ATmosphères EXplosibles
= Equipment or apparatus intended to be used in explosive atmospheres.
