I have a condensing unit on top of a floral cooler in my store. It works fine, but it's really noisy. Is there any way to quiet the condensing fan/fan motor? It's driving me crazy!!

How old is it ?

Maybe the fan bearings are shot or is the fan touching on something?

It's not too old, maybe 3 or 4 years. I plan to take the fan motor out and clean it. Could the fan blades be unbalanced or something?

try to disconect the fan motor , run the unit , is it noisy?= NO , then it is the fan =YES the problem is compressor? possible valve brocken , happy hunting,

1-Put rubber under condenser frame (thickness 10 up to 20 mm)
2- Check all nuts and fixture of condenser and fans .
3 – Condenser fan is it balance ?
4 – Check bearing of fan

Was it noise only or noise with vibration?

-Any cance of relocating the condenser unit outdoors, cheaper running costs then ,plus less heat indoors generated.

hello there,

the things you must first check the other RE engineers have already pointed out.

find first where is the noise coming from (i.e vibration noise, loose screws, lack or misplacement of rubber isolation or component making noise like compressor or fans and so on)

if the noise comes from fan then check fan mountung screws are tight, check that fan blades are even and not touching any surface while spinning.

hope this helps

best regards

1)fan bearings might have worn out . Motor shaft & bearing clearance out of tolerance .

2) check condenser , partially blocked which could cause excessive pressure drop.
3) condensing unit might have loose foundation bolts .
4)check fan blade angle
