I have used 5, 6, 7 and 10 cfm pumps. My honest opinion is a 7 is your best bet and buy. The deeper vacuum capacity is really only used for lab work. I carry 2 7cfm pumps at all times and switch off every other pull. If the run is long or the system larger than normal, I will hook up both pumps and " let em fly ". The 7 will also be easier on the budget when the regular overhaul service is done. Just remember...you can NEVER EVER change the oil enough !! I figure the oil change cost in the service proposal. My pumps look and work like they just came out of the box. Have a great day !!! FEISTY
