Hello,
An unusual one, this - one of my customers has a 21 year old Foster cabinet, it is adapted for hanging game (he is an avid shooting enthusiast). He salvaged it from a factory that was closing, but it has just packed in now. Compressor fine, but definitely no gas, just a hint of cooling where the capillary is soldered to the evaporator. Model number is GH 1350T, it uses R12 and the compressor is a Tecumseh CAJ4461A. Have seen some stuff on the forum re. Foster cabinets and concur with the crappy quality of the copper plumbing - it is quite discoloured & corroded, both inside & out and the evap. coil does not look great either. Cabinet has two doors, it is approx 55" wide, 24" deep & 60" high. Evaporator is fitted into an internal plenum chamber which has a circulation fan and is approx 4" x 4" x 12" in size. Very basic system, just a capillary and a Ranco stat with its bulb mounted on the evap. coil, no expansion valves or fancy electronics. A small bulb, approx 1" x 5" is mounted on the suction line from the evaporator - this seems to perform the task of a rudimentary receiver. Trouble is, there is no data, the label is long worn off re. refrigerant quantity etc. Also, the compressor is only rated for R12. Any suggestions re. drop in replacements and replacement evap coil? - or would someone have any specs on this model? The owner is anxious to keep the cabinet as it was expensive to have the racking wtc modified for hanging the game, the cabinet itself is in very good condition. Many thanks

Take the comp details and ask your local wholesaler or try SRW and they will quote you something. Beehive coils used to make Foster coils so you might try them too
