Help I let the fuel get to low and our MD-II SR ran out of fuel how do I start it short of call tech?

Assuming this is a diesel engine then it needs the fuel system bleeding of air.

As far as I`m aware if the new Ford Transits run out diesel a main dealer or AA etc has to programme the engine software to enable the engine to crank over to bleed the system.
And to think diesels used to be simple things
