Hi
Is there anybody out there looking at this system online IMS/EVOLVE ? . Not to bad of a system a bit slow to go around and look at things but you can get lots of info from it . Just a shame they got danfoss front ends in the stores ! .

Hi fowlie
Coolhibby1875 also mentioned SIMMS in another post about remote monitoring at tesco. what is simms? the only likely candidates i can find is either SIMMS inventory management software used for fixed asset management, or tesco's SIIMS (Store integration information management systems) network. or is it something else altogether?

Thanks very much

Hi Fridge109,
SIIMS was the original system developed at M1, this was a system that monitored all Cases (And Plant) in Tesco Stores to ascertain degrading cases (Poor defrost recovery etc...) this Moved on to later become a complete Remote monitoring service removing the need for Tesco Staff to monitor Temperatures, For a period of time they didnt even have Front ends, they just recieved a call form "SIIMS" to tell them they had a problem, The idea was to let them Sell beans, SIIMS monitor the cases and call a Refrig Contractor if theres a problem, The Contractor turns up and informs the Store they have a problem, This has now changed slightly in that IMS Evolve carry out this work for Tesco, They call the Store if theres a problem and ask the IST to take a look, the Store then authorise a service call if required, (Which is most of the time) What Tony is reffering to is the ability to look remotley via the Web at what IMS can see (Or Some of it), You can also plug in to any Cat5 Socket on site and view the "Portal Demon" (A Web Page )which enables you to see all cases and Packs on the network, Of course this all relies on whether the Comms is up,

The system is great although as Tony says sometimes slow, On site with "IP" Controllers, you have can have full read write access depending what Password you have,

Hope this is useful,

The IMS remote access software is called Enterprise, not too bad to use!

Instore is accessed by a laptop using a web browser, as Animal say's it's as easy as plugging into any Cat5 socket on the refrigeration network to the IMS server.
