Hi,
I am interested to find out the equation to work out how much it costs to run electrical equipment.

The particular unit i'm interested in is a mitsi 15 kw cassette.

I want to assess the cost of a both a 3 phase and single phase system when the system is running, also i'd like to to know the generally assumed average running time per hour for a properly sized A/C motor.

Shall we take the supplies as 415v and 230v respectively use the standard powerfactor and the unit price per kwh as £0.10

A woman told me today that the unit in question cost there organisation £60,000 a year to run and i'd love to stick a properly worked equation under her nose or up it. :D

Regards Steve

Hey thanks,
I used that and came up with a £1072 for 52 weeks of use. I looked up a mitsi 3phase 14.5 kw unit and found the nominal kw input to be 4.36.

What do you reckon, worked it out in my head to be 3k if the comp never stopped so a system that starts and stops as it should properly would be about that i reckon.

Thanks Steve
