Hi there, can anyone please inform me of any regs i may need to know about if i were considering re-gassing fridges?
I work for a furniture recycling project in Gloucester and we have a lot of fridges and freezers donated to us that sometimes may need a re-gas.
Is it cost effective, as our goods go back to the under privalaged around the area at a low price.
Do I need to get any other specialist training, licences or certificates to carry out this work> Any info would be gratefully recieved.

to use refrigerants you need to be qualified with 2078 gas handling certificate. however this will be changing soon to 2079. my advice is to get a qualified engineer in to assess them before deciding on what to do with them as they are not always short of gas. wouldn't have thought there is much money to be made in it though.
