hi all wonder if anyone has come across this problem. ive been working on a trane ERTAA215 and it keeps on coming up with the fault CHILLER MOD TO OPTION MOD COMM FAILURE. its set to tracer and theres another identical chiller next to it with the same settings but no faults. ive tryed powering down but no joy.ive tested both comps and exv,but cant get it to runon its own. please help :)

hi check if somone changed one of the options that are disabled to enable and the card is actully not installed .
does your comm with the bcu work proparly ???

thanks for reply goshen,ive gone through all the settings on the chiller and they are the same as the chiller next to it [both independent].and thats working fine. what is the bcu?. thanks, any more advice or what to test and how would be great.

A BCU is a Building Control Unit. Not at hand here, I think.

In both machines a A9 module would be installed. This can either be a CSR or a LCI-C. Either one is not communication with the main module.

Check the comms wire between the two mods wire No 22 & 23 between the A1 chiller mod and the A9 options mod they are daisy chained to all the Mods.

thank you for all your help, chiller running now turned out to be maintenance staff on site telling porkys about them not touching the chiller
