View Full Version : LG Premium ez Digital - Ice Drawer Freezing Up

Would appreciate any ideas on this please. The above fridge freezer is a 2 door 'American Style' fridge freezer with ice/cold water dispenser in the freezer door. It is 2 years old. Recently the ice in the ice drawer has started to freeze into a block, and the 'neck' of the drawer where the rotary 'teeth' that crush the ice are located are freezing up with frost/ice. The same 'frost/ice' build up occurs in the chute in the door. I have tried to solve by reducing temperature to absolute minimum, taking out the drawer and thawing the ice; then drying thoroughly, but within 5 or 6 hours of replacing, the frost is already building up again. Is there anything obvious I should be doing? Or is this going to be an expensive fix? Look forward to any assistance please. Thanks...

more than like defrost sensor has failed which is quite common on lg fridges

Is the 'defrost sensor' something I can fix myself, DIY-style?

I am going away for a week next week, so am planning to empty and shut the fridge freezer off while we are away. Then see what happens when we turn it back on again. If it still plays up then I will let you know and order the spare part from you... Many thanks..

Hi There. I am still having problems with the icing up mentuoined in my earlier posts a few weeks ago. I switched off, dried out and left it for a week while we were on holiday, but having switched on again its all icing up again within a matter of hours. So do u recommend me to replace the ice sensor? Do you have one in stock please? Whats the price? and is it an easy DIY fix please? Many thanks...Alan...
