very cold fridge

Ive got an old phillips fridge/freezer 360L cycle defrost that keeps freezing my cans of beer even tho Ive turned it right down??:cool:

you may have a faulty thermostat or thermostat might not be sensing evaporator temperature required to cycle thermostat either through inefficiency of compressor or loss of refrigerant charge,what i am saying is that the evaporator might not be cold enough to trip thermostat causing continuos run and alas making it difficult to get the beer out of the can,some commercial microwaves can have steel products placed in them,maybe give that a go,
cheers bottoms up etc

replacing stat probably your best option on the cheap.

Hi M & K,
To follow on from Lowcool, some check that could possibly explain whats happening.
1/ is the the cold plate in fridge section totally snowed up, shoud defrost everytime system stops. Possible thermostat, arched contacts in thermostat.
2/ is cold plate partially snowed up, reason short of gas. [ new dual tep fridge required. ] ie the thermostat sensor is not reaching the cut out setting.
3/ Ice- cream is a good indicator of freezer section, is it like concrete to roll, ok too cold in the freezer.
4/ does the fridge stop when the thermostat turned to minimum- zero stop position, if not sounds like the thermostat.

Short answer, get a new fridge/ freezer, if all above applies.

hi you said you turned it DOWN maybe if you turn the stat UP it might work. what is the temp?
