hotpoint mistral plus

i bought a secondhand mistral plus a few days ago.i turned it on and left it overnight, when i checked it the freezer was working but not the fridge.this evening when i went to it the freezer doesnt seem to be working. i cant hear any humming or fridge like noise even though the temperature thing is working as is the light so i know its getting power.what is the first thing i should check...thanks

These are good fridges (i have two) ....when there's a fault you usually get a fault code on the digi display at top. Is anything running at all?
