I was asked to take a look at an old [26 years] water chiller.

It is build from 3 copaland 35HP compressors, condensers are on the roof, some 15 meters high, each compressor has an unloader.
Working temp is 7°C out and 13°C in.

TEV's are Sporlan, 7\8 inlet and 1 3\8 outlet.
One of them have lost the charge and doe's not function.
The only thing I can see is the number 33 on top of it.

it shoud be around 25 TR.

Any idea what is the replacement model??

Thanks guys.

Thanks,
I have that catalog, it is new. I think that the number is the body size but its written on the top and not on the TEV body.

33 tons could not be right. it will be around 25 TR

Have you tried the document 210-60, identifying them?

Compressor model is D6SH 3500- capacity at working conditions is 75 KW = 21 TR.

In that case, the old TEV doe's not matter any more, the new one will be Alco or Danfoss [ 2 parts and much easier to install in that place.

chemi_cool,

The 33 is the power head number, just what you need if the charge is lost.

The number is KT33-????

Where the capillary tubing attaches to the power head is a small cubed connector. Look on the side of it and you will find the numbers/letters which represent the charge type.

Also, somewhere on the side of the TEV you will find the valvle number etched into the body.. It's either a P, H or O style.

Thanks for trying to help.

I thought to find some real help here......

I drove back this morning and got everything sorted out.
The new TEV is OVE-20-VCP100.

All is working nice and smooth now.:)
