Hi all, new here and need a bit of help.

I did ducting for 5 years but then left and am now looking at going into the a/c & refrigeration side of things.

Thing is i now have a choice, i have spoken to Ellis training who from looking on here are a good company, and they suggest doing the c&g 2079 and c&g 2081 courses they do.

I have also spoken to a company near me and they said send in your cv and they could prob take me on as an improver and put me through safe handling themselves.

So, what would you guys think would be the better option to go for?

Cheers, JG

Get the job and let your employer pay for the courses.

If you look at the different threads here you will find that people after doing these courses still have problem finding employment.

Ahemmm! Ahemmmm!

I started life off as a ducter, now i run a very busy, small a/c & refrigeration company.
What i did to get the break was to sell my services to the a/c companies as a labour only subbie. Running cable tray, hanging fan coils, mounting condensers and of course installing the ducting.
Then gradually, as i mithered them more and more they give me more to do.
Because i did it so well, it didn't take long until i was split bashing, throwing in R2's for breakfast and fitting boiler in the basement-chiller on the roof combo's.

If you want it, you will get it.

Cheers guys, thought the job option would be the better of the 2.

Have sent them my cv so just have to wait to hear from them now.
Hopefully things will go ok.
