Hello friends,

I am confused about Ashrae, thus I need to ask you about it.

I use 2006 ashrae and I think there is a problem in “Suction, Discharge and Liquid Line Capacities in Kilowatts for Refrigerant 404 a (single or High-Stage Applications)”. The problem is in the liquid line section at the header. It seems like this;

Liquid Lines (40 °C)
See note a
Velocity = 0,5 m/s ∆T=2 K/m ∆T=5 K/m

According to me, the ∆T’s are supposed to be 0,02 K/m and 0,05 K/m. Could you please confirm me which one is correct ? 0,02 – 0,05 K/m or the current ones (2 K/m ; 5 K/m) ?

Does anyone know the answer ? Thanks people.

Here is the reply I got from Ashrae;

Dear Mr. Dirikan:

Thank you for your message. After locating the source files for the tables, which were last revised in 2002, we believe that the values for delta t in Tables 6 to 9 should indeed be 0.02 and 0.05 K/m as you mentioned below. We will issue a correction notice under Handbook Corrections on the Handbook page of the ASHRAE Web site at the following link:

We appreciate your taking the time to alert us to this matter.

Sincerely,

Mark Owen
