I am still on the plan for my ice block plant. Power is very erratic in Nigeria (where i want to set up). What are the most energy efficient way of ice storage without wiping away my profit?

Is it possible to power a walk in cooler via an inverter?

My ice storage will be equivalent of a 20 or 40 foot reefer container.

Electricity might sometimes be out for days. All imputs welcome

Hi Promise1
I guess if you might be out of power for days at a time you might look at minimising heat gain by insulating and sealing container well (maybe underground if ambiant is high. some amonia systems operate from waste heat, and you can use a glycol mix as a cold store holdover for when there is no power. The romans made ice by filling a deep hole full of snow, the pressure from the snow above would make ice at the bottom and collect chilled water. The egyptians - well thats another story.

get a diesel generator set, that kicks after power outage, all automatic. Inverters incorporated in generator set.

Do you have any info or lead on that? Very much interested.
