Hi all

I need some help with a 2003 Ford Galaxy tdi

It came in this morning with a broken suction pipe down at the pump, we repaired the pipe and evacuated system,
Connected up the electronic scales let the gas in but the ac pump will not kick in,

connected it the laptop and got these fault codes

Address 08: Auto HVAC
Control Module Part Number: 7M5 907 049 D
Component and/or Version: Klimabetaetigung 0404
Software Coding:
Work Shop Code: WSC 00000
5 Faults Found:

00631 - Communications/Connection AC <-> Motronic
007 - Short to Ground
01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)
009 - Open or Short to Ground
01189 - Front Air Distribution Flap Motor (V145)
006 - Short to Plus
01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
00926 - Terminal 30
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

Cleared fault codes and no faults came back on , but the beast will not bring in the pump.

Checked pressure switch
checked comp clutch

Has anyone else had this prob

Thanks

Chris

if the galaxy is what i think it is (people carrier) im sure they have a tendancy to blow the compressor if not charged in a certain way, must be charged with vapour not liquid.

How have you checked the clutch?.. is it manual ac or climatronic?.... Had a few clutches fail but checked out fine 'till you send 12 volts directly to them... fuses, relay ok? Are you sure it is the clutch as the SD7V16 compressor is notorious for clogged displacement control valves..

What voltage are you measuring at the clutch?

Hi

There is no power going to the clutch,

But if I run 12 volts to the clutch the pumps pulls in condenser fans cycle and the car gets cold everything works fine.

but for some reason the vehicle just wont send power itself.

It hasnt got climate control control ,
Just an ac switch which is lighting up o.k.

I have swopped over the small relays behind the fusebox but still nothing.

I will have to trace the wiring ,

It wouldnt be so bad if I could get a diagram ,

Chris

autodata discs or books are handy for wiring diagrams... Have fun.

I have the autodata A/C cd but it tells you nothing about the ford galaxy .

if the clutch comes on with 12v supply then it has to be a control fault

From memory Autodata aircon book 2 had data on Galaxies.. have you checked out Sharans or Alhambras, they are all the same junk

Blower interlock?
Damper/flap interlock?
HP switch?
LP switch?

Is it possible to trace the cables back, either in real life or on wiring diagram?
