For those who always wanted to learn more about microcontrollers.
On http://www.parallax.com/ they introduced years ago a microcontroller with a Basic interpreter on it so that a 14 years old child can learn to program a real microcontroller.

Everything is done in Basic and this is realy not difficult to learn.

On their website, you can download all their books, school books and and a real huge newsgroup at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/basicstamps/
Me and my son are receiving every day +/- 20 to 30 new adds.

Even the programming software inclusive emulators is free.

They even made project which served in many Space Shuttle projects. So they must be very reliable.

Many of the bigger companies who use this processor even share all their knowledge with you.

I started exploring this very powerful piece of electronic after my son needed it 2 years ago in school.
We now have I think 25 books of the Stamp. But now I don't have time anymore to play with it.

Popular electronic magazines such as Nuts &Volts devote each monthe an article on this subject http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/nvcolumns/Nuts_Volts_Downloads.asp

Have also a look at http://www.solutions-cubed.com/solutions%20cubed/robotgroups2003.htm
and
http://www.parnelleng.com/support/weatherstamp/
and http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/edu/index.asp

You can see there that they start realy with very simple projects.

A competitive product is http://www.picbasic.org/

or

http://www.basicx.com/

Have then a look at Customer apps and to the add of Richard Friedrich. Very nice made.

A funny add of some weeks ago
have 3 cats. One of them has health problems that require
her to eat special food. I feed her in a different location than
the other 2 cats, but the problem is that one of the other cats
insists on sneaking in and stealing her food.

So... I need a detector that can "watch" across a doorway
and watch for cats entering a room and sound an alarm
if either of the WRONG cats enter. I would rather not resort
to using a "special" (magnetic) collar on the cats, and would
prefer to find a way to distinguish between cats visually if
possible...

One cat is black, one is mottled grey, and one is mostly
white.cream colored with dark siamese "points".

I'm wondering if the TCS230 color sensor kit has enough
range (30+ inches) and sensitivity to detect and "sort"
cats by color as they cross through a doorway..?

Anyone have any thoughts on how to detect a specific cat?

Thanks much!

You should see the postings afterwards.

Hopes this was a good add for some of you.

Hi members,
I want to know about the circuit diagram of the main electronic pcb board used in carel's chiller control modules. Thanks.

Why you need this? Can't you use the controller on its own?

hi peter_1 i have found lately that using the ICHILL controller made by dixell is very easy even for beginners
it is simple all the programming can be done via the keypad
no need to go into basic programing
if u want to go into basic i have found many controlers from the ddc side that offer this function ,
i personally use to do basic programing but these days why bother it is all ready made!!!
anyway thx for the shortcuts interesting reding material

It wasn't meant to replace any of-the-shelf controller in the refrigeration field.
It's only to gain basic knowledge in micro controllers in common.
