Hello,
I have a small True freezer that has an evaporator fan issue. The voltage at the fan is reading 12-13.5 v and the fan does not operate. When removed and connected to 120 v the fan works great. Could this be some sort of capacitor failure? Is it OK for me to by-pass the evaporator fan power source and have it running all the time? Possibly could I wire it to the compressor power to synchronize the two? Thanks for your help

Hello John. If defrost is by electrical heater(s), fan might be coupled with compressor, if, by chance, by injection refrigerant gas into evap, then no. Are there heater(s) ?
But best of all, open the fan control and try to find out what's the matter.
