I want to separate the heat exchanger from the compressor on my aquarium chiller. How much can I extend the gas and liquid lines before it will quit working? Would increasing the line size help? I remember doing pressure drop calculation in school but that is a long time ago. specs are R12 unit, 1hp. 115vac, I think 1/2" and 3/8" lines.
