Hello,

Please can anyone help. I have a wine cooler unsure on the make.

It has a small compressor and a relay with overload protector built in...

The fridge was working fine. Then just stopped cooling. The comp was getting a little hot.

So I turned the fridge off left it for a while to cool down.

When I turned it back on, the comp would not start.

So I looked at the relay and replaced the relay only but kept the overload protector as it looked ok.

Turned the fridge back on and it did not kick the comp in so I left it on..

Later on I was told it tripped the electric .

So I looked at it again.. Yes everytime i plug it in it trips...

Any one have any ideas what it could be... Is the comp on its way out, or could it be the relay....

I am Stuck on this one. I have kind of gone Blank on the problem myself..

please help////

Oh dear....

So the comp windings are shorting the electric then.. No way of fixing the problem...

Thanks You for your response

you could isolate wires from relay to see if it still trips, that is if your qualified,is not good to play with things you know nothing about

thanks..

I am ok at wiring did think of bypassing the relay. somehow. If I get an a meter on the compressor that may tell me if it is burnt out want it..

Is the compresser tripping an overload circuit breaker or an earth leagage (rccd) breaker?

disconnect comp winding terminals make sure none of your windings is down to earth
