Hi There

I am new to the site.
I have been asked to gas up a the refrigeration units of a Mercedes van, the model is a Carrier Xarios 200, there are two separate units, one running from main power with R404a and an engine driven system running with R134a. I have already gased up the main unit with R404a but could not find a service valve for the R134a system

Can anyone advice where the find the service valve for the R134a system please?

look behind the passenger seat or under it follow the pipework a/c type connectors.somewhere between road compressor and unit

Is this for real? Why would someone have two differant refrigerants let alone seperate systems? We have nothing like that here.
Bizzare!

Bizzare!

I assume casoui has a refrigerated panel van.
IE the cargo space at the rear of the cab is refrigerated?
As well as the air conditioned cab driven off of the engine?
Therefore 2 systems!

NEVER SEEN SYSTEM WITH 404a AND 134a. CHECK OUT BEFORE YOU RUN THIS ONE

Thans Cadwaladr.

Correct Grizzly. The back is a refrigerated van. In fact the main refrigeration unit runs from Main power with a R404a compressor that is completely separate from the A/C R134a compressor driven by the engine which is also used to hold the temperature at the back. This is first time I see such a system but it is working.

Ok bear with me here.... Are you telling me that the reefer (Carrier) is on its own but they also have another unit in rear that is tied into the truck's OEM a/c?
I can help you with either but not sure exactly what we have here.

Yes right.
The carrier unit is independent and runs from main power with an R404 compressor.
The other unit is used durind road operation and runs from the A/C compressor(R134A) , it is the latter that I need to gas up but can not get hold of service valve.

The Carrier is ok then?
Are the ports in a bad spot or you can't find them? You could always add some? If there is some steel or copper somewere, you could braze some on. There must be ports somewere though?

the service ports may be behind the seats clipped to the bulkhead or they may be in the engine bay or high side on the cond section and lowside on the evap coil
Question is the R134a sytem merc fitted or carrier

I am trying my best to understand what the heck your doing. I suggest you find the fittings for the Carrier and then remove the cover on the condenser and find a decal. Most likeley r404a.
I'm realy sorry but I don't understand what you are asking??
