I need some help. At college I went through the whole psychometric part of the course. And have never used one since.

I can visualise the more experienced techs absolutely aghast at this statement. But , could someone care to explain, divulge on this forum where and when they would resort to using these charts?

I think most techs wouldn't except during a service call and you had to have proof, or if you are going to put in a new system maybe. Definitely if you are working in a clean room or room with highly sensitive electronics. Even then though they usually have humidity sensors etc. throughout the room.

I have never used one since school either...

The chart is useful if you need to estimate re-heat capacity for a low RH% application ( w/o using a dehumidifier )

Also to predict mixed air properties in AHU's.

Maybe for knowing how much moisture is removed or added to a system ( when dehumidifiers or humidifiers are used )

I think you can have these charts on a PDA and very handy.
