I am new to the forum. This i guess is one of the best forum i have ever joined. Highly educative and technically contained.
Engineers, can you help me on getting information on technical understanding of propane compressors used in petrochemical industry.
A link of company that can supply it will also help.

Hi Popesolo

I am looking at your question two ways.
Refrigeration compressors running on hydrocarbon refrigerant or positive displacement blowers for petrochemical process?

Either way I would start with these guys:
www.aerzengb.com
www.howden.com

There are multiple answers/comments to this question.

Does the compressor have to comply with typical petrochem specifications?
Propane is just another refrigerant, however due to the flammability of the refrigerant you need explosion proof wiring, motors, and controls.
Oil dilution can be a problem. Make sure you use a good quality oil that takes into account the oil dilution of the oil/propane mixture at the operating conditions required.

I would call Howden.
