Walk in refer dual coil problem any ideas????

I got a walk in cooler with two evap coils side by side. temp controlled by orit. one coil is icing uo only four inches from top of coil. the other ices up four inches from bottom. has four defrost 35 min maintains temp defrodt is off cycle. About every 4 months the ice goes about a third of the way and needs to be de iced

Check if the evaps have distributors fitted. If they have check that they are vertically fed, if they are not and you have any flash gas through the tev then that can cause the symptoms you have.

Are all heaters good? (in case, the defrost is electrical)

Is the orit holding during defrost? How's the refer charge?Does it change due to temp or have heat reclaim? Do the employees turn off the fans because they get cold.(don't laugh one started a fight with me when I removed the switches) I don't think both txv's would have an issue. :)
