How do you know that compressor is overheating, what are the symptoms?

did you check the running Amps of each winding???
check the front-right site, were the oil sight glass is,it has to be cold there, and hot more to the left on the same place.
check the subcooling.

hi,

thanks for the reply. actualy the cooling valve had the problem. (sv coil ok but mechanisam was stuck position) winding tem was 95c

any set point is there for cooling valve or economiser valve?

Is it always on when the compressor is on?

I believe, Carrier chillers do not have settable temp for motor winding cooling (probably, no one chiller, or other type of refr equipment has, being pre-programmed and out of reach). Cooling solenoid seems to operate periodically, by impulses from the main processor.

Normally the motor temperature is around 85 C. Just for future reference, beside the terminal pins is a spare temperature sensor for the windings in case the original goes out of range. If you change it make sure you connect onto the right connection.
