Hi every body
In a secondary coolant system we have screw type compressors (HSN 7471-75-40P and CSH 8571-140-40P)and wondering if we need accumulator or not .
On the other word , is liquid return to screw compressors a serious problem ?
Thank u for ur attention.
Regards

That is not the right question.

The question you shall ask to yourself is: "did I make all efforts to avoid liquid floodback?". If not or unsure, install an accumulator.

We r gonne install but not sure if it is possible to omit it or not ?
Is liquid flood back a threat to screw type compressors or these types can bear in case of a little amount of flood back

Floodback cannot be considered at design time. Not an option.

Then, the compressor may bear it or not, it doesn't matter.

I would tend to go for the safest approach and install a accumulator.

by the way, liquid flood back is hazardus for EVERY type of compressor. the scroll can take and cope better whit flood back, all the others crash and dye.

I think it depends on ur cycle and exp.v type, but Im also not sure about necessity of liquid-return protection for screw compressor. if anyone has such exprience I`ll be appriciated to get advises.
