hi guys does any body know that is it a common practice up north to have cscs training before you can work in big buildings,and is it worth having the card

Well worth the little money involved if you intend working on building sites, nice easy multiple choice questions. Remember they are dealing with the building trade not exactly rocket science :D

Has been a requirement for some time now. Though not every site would ask for evidence of the H&S card it is becoming more common place.
Thing is, why avoid it, the cost is minimal, you can book an early morning test to limit down time, and you'll be quite surprised to learn that you already know most of the stuff anyway.

If you were an Electrician you'd have to have a JIB card, so why not go and get yourself an Engineering services skill card to wave about http://www.skillcard.org.uk

All good fun and it helps keep someone else in a job .... sorry I'm becoming sarcastic.

We'll be able to do swaps before long with the amount of cards that we have to collect.:rolleyes:

You can do the test in 10 mins and book it on a Saturday!
