Thanks for the sizing info and pictures for milk vats this one is usins a danfos TEX2 with a number 6 orrifice which seems within the ball park.
However I am still losing oil and I may have found the reason.
There is a gass leak showing up in the vat itself.
Oil is starting to show along one of the lower seams and my leak detector goes wacko along a one meter streach of the seam where the stainless is riveted.
The vat is branded
APV Farm storage tank
Type 2
Serial # 39
MSC 8/33

I do not even know country of origin

The construction seems to be one sheet stainless on the bottom with four leaves of curved stainless lapped one over the other and rivited in place.
I am hopeing that I can start on one end removing the end cap and then each curved leaf until I reach the leak area (about the middle)and then start digging through the insulation to find the leak source. All this is assuming that the shell was not just filled with two pack foam.
If anyone knows of this type of vat and its construction or can offer any good advice on how to get to the leak leaving the vat in reasonable order I would be pleased to hear it

Thanks for your help

hi cary.

change to orifice no5 or even 4.
using too large orifice causes oil migration to tank.

I saw it a few times in the past and problem disapeared when orifice has been changed.

do not forget to push out all the oil with OFN

you can also install oil separator after compressor.
