I'm designing an air-to-water heat-pump for scratch & would like to use the optimum wall-thickness of copper tube, without going overboard.

Refrigerant - R-134a
Low pressure - ~ 0.88 MPa(a) (~10'C sat)
High pressure - ~ 2.11 MPa(a)

Size range in design:
LP side - 5/8" & 7/8"
HP side - 5/8" & 1/2"

The majority of the elbows & bends are to be performed with a pipe-bender, with as few brazed fittings as possible.

The thickness grades of M, L & K are available over here. Type 'K' would seem the safest (thickest) route, but expensive at the same time.

I would be most grateful to useful thickness-pressure literature, guidelines, or links. Thanks very much.
