Can anyone tell me the importance of having the Daikin VRV111 refnets installed on the horzontal plane and not on the vertical. I heard something about a possible noise issue on the de-ice cycle? What is the problem with having the refnet outlet on top of the through pipe?

Hi there Im not too sure on the noise thing although it does cause excess noise when the refrigerant is flowing through.
I do know that it does cause a problem with inadequate flow to the evaporators depending that is why it is specified to have them installed horizontally with +- 15 degrees. Hope that helps

Think of the refnet with liquid flowing through it.

When the liquid hits the branch then it can separate into liquid and vapour, the vapour going through the upper leg and the liquid staying in the lower leg.

That is why they must be installed horizontally. You will also find that warranty can be affected if not installed correctly.
